            BWS Plein Air Events
Come meet up with fellow artists!
Bring your friends along!

We meet around 8:30 am or so at the given    locations (see below). You may choose to attend    a little earlier or later. You can bring a lunch or        visit one of the nearby restaurants with the                                    group.

If there is enough participation, BWS is contemplating having a special tent exhibit at the BWS annual juried Splash show next spring, with prize awards. Any plein air paintings that BWS would exhibit would be required to be in the watercolor medium.  The complete prospectus / rules for exhibiting plein air paintings will be forthcoming via handouts at the events and on this website.

BWS members & friends, please try to attend these outdoor activities. They are free and you don't have to be a BWS member to attend. You may also paint outdoors in any medium.

What do you need to have to paint outdoors? You need the same equipment you use indoors to paint with, plus a few conveniences such as a folding chair, umbrella, sunscreen, hat, easel, a support for your watercolor paper, water pail, paper towels and a trash bag for your used paper towels.

Please note that since November 1, 2011 the  location of the facility that Brevard Watercolor Society uses for General Member's Meetings/Demos and also for the Mini-Workshops has changed.

The Parks & Recreation Department has received a grant to install and wire new lighting and repair issues with the air conditioning at the Satellite Beach Civic Center building (565 Cassia Blvd, Satellite Beach,FL) where we normally hold our activities.

They apologize for the inconvenience this may cause us and our membership and have been working diligently with BWS to provide an adequate replacement venue while our normal facility is being renovated. They have also succeeded in adapting scheduling that accommodates our members.

We will NOT be able to use the Satellite Beach  facility from NOVEMBER 2011 through MARCH 2012.

Beginning November 1st through March 31st, all of our General Member's Meetings/Demos and our Mini-Workshops will be held at:

  DAVID R. SCHECHTER COMMUNITY  CENTER

                   1089  SOUTH  PATRICK  DRIVE

                     SATELLITE BEACH, FL  32937

This community center is located just about 1/2 mile north on S. Patrick Dr. from the Cassia Blvd turn off to the old location. The David R. Schrechter Community Center is in the same building complex neighboring the Satellite Beach US Post Office. (When looking at the community center building 'head on', the room we will use will be the first double doors to the left.)

Please help remind your BWS painting friends of this new temporary change.

THANK YOU.
